This website was created by Diana West, BA, IBCLC, Lisa Marasco, MA, IBCLC, and Carol Maranta in 2007 as an outgrowth of the BFAR website (operating since 1998) and their book Making More Milk: A Mother's Guide to Milk Supply (in press). Diana and Lisa manage the design and content of the site and Carol manages its functionality and the forums.

The purpose of the LowMilkSupply.org website is to provide information and support to mothers who are concerned about low milk production and to provide information to health care providers about the protocols of low milk production. In addition to outreach to mothers and healthcare professionals through this website Diana and Lisa speak at professional conferences and publish information about low milk production in professional journals and parenting magazines.
